tracing the threads, cutting no switchbacks I am about making and experiencing connection. Connection to self, to other, to the present moment, to earth, to the stars, to wonder, to the living waters, and the spirit which moves within us. Embracing the pulse of life and the journey of birth, life, and transformation, I feel grounded and renewed in the natural world and in both the stillness of being and the path which transports us here and there. My heart and soul responds most to trails through mountain passes, river valleys, and in my garden--sustainability on multiple levels. I value close relationship, exploration, sharing, play, creative process, spontaneity, and sense awareness. I have the capacity for reflection, contemplative process and monkish quietude balanced with joyful and ecstatic passion for life, trickster traits and worldly engagement.
At 20 years of age, my journeys took me to the North Cascades in Washington State. After that i knew that I wanted to live out here, and in 1993 it happened. In the meantime, though, there was lots of travel in N. American mountain regions, writing poetry, travel journals, working here and there.
I have a diverse range of creative interests and digital photography has been rewarding on treks. I also enjoy the creative/metaphorical aspect of gardening and growing and my work as a psychotherapist. In maintaining balance, my soul requires more expansive outlets and escapes out of my head-thoughts: walking/hiking, growing things, creating, nourishing, and connecting to still wild places both in my own internal, as well as the external landscape. I have studied and presented on ecopsychology: balancing that inner and outer landscape, finding renewal, and respecting our earth.
